Captivating Copenhagen

Why does every description of Copenhagen compare the city to a fairytale? Is it because of the multicolored houses artistically arranged on cobbled streets with canals lining them? Or is it because of the happy faces that surround you when you visit the city for a holiday? Whatever it is, you can be assured that when you book your flights to Copenhagen, you are taking a trip to wonderland.

Copenhagen can be unbelievably affordable for such a scenic destination. You can easily fetch some great cheap flights to Copenhagen deals on popular airlines like British Airways, US airways etc from any major US airport. You can also book cheap plane tickets through Air Canada flight reservations for flights from New York City or Portland.

Once you’ve booked your cheap tickets to Copenhagen, make sure you book your lodgings at the earliest. Accommodation in Copenhagen ranges from camp lodging for backpackers to mission hotels that are basic but inexpensive for families and high end suites for luxury seekers. Summer is peak season; you can book cheaper and better rooms if you book your flights to Copenhagen for winter. However, this means you will miss Tivoli Gardens which is closed during winter.

What to see and do

The best way to explore Copenhagen is by foot or on a rented bike. Canal tours are also available and these will make you familiar with the city. Most attractions are open from morning till evening, so make sure you visit before closing hours.

Starting from the iconic Little Mermaid statue and Copenhagen’s famous Tivoli Gardens to the cobblestone streets, Copenhagen is filled with interesting sight whichever side you turn. Watch history unfold through Copenhagen’s architecture along the Nyhavn Canal. The Copenhagen city Museum and the National Museum at Prince’s Palace showcase the history of this regal city while Christiansborg Palace and Rosenborg Castle are typical Dutch architectural wonders.

Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens is a tourist destination by itself. Open in the summer months from March to September, this amusement park has been around for over a century and offers over 20 rides, several eateries and live entertainment. If you are traveling with kids, this is a must visit; but of course, the Tivoli Gardens is a lovely place to visit for adults too. The Botanical gardens, Copenhagen zoo and Bakken Amusement Park are other places to visit with kids.
